NATIONAL ADOPTION AWARENESS MONTH

children-beach-adjFormal, time-specific adoption awareness campaigns began more than 30 years ago in Massachusetts. Since 1990, National Adoption Awareness Month has been celebrated in November. Every President since 1995 has issued proclamations promoting November as National Adoption Month and it has become a formal tradition throughout the country.

November has been designated National Adoption Month to focus national attention on the increasing numbers of children who need families, namely to promote the adoption of teens who are in our Country’s foster care system. Many of these children have special needs and require the security, stability and love of an adoptive family to develop their full potential.

To honor adoptive families and children, see attached flyer for the Adoption Walk on November 1st.
